Who we are
SPU is a gaming society and stands for "Smart Professionals United". It reflects the gaming philosophy for all the soc members. The three words describe what is important about being part of SPU.
Smart is how we play. We are not money wasters nor are we just a bunch of n00bs. We know our game and we make use of our knowledge wisely, we play smart.
Professionals is what we are. Some of us are quite busy IRL (in real life), we have real jobs or studies to finish. Hence we are no hardcore gaming kids, we are adults trying to have fun and enjoy ourselves in nice gameplay. What we do we do right, we are professionals.
United we play. We are one trustworthy entity. We rely on eachother ingame, we help eachother, we trust eachother. We are no loose knit group of gamers, we are a small circle of virtual real friends in an online gaming world. We are here to play together and to have fun together, we are united.
SPU is a gaming soc born in the real cash economy MMORPG Entropia Universe, in particular the Planet Calypso part of the EU gaming universe, formerly Project Entropia. The founding members have long been part of a soc called Miners of the Mountains which has been the home to many good players in EU. During that time at MotM we came about with the idea of a soc that would be at home in EU but not be limited to EU only. The idea is to eventually expand to other RCE (real cash economy) MMORPGs if they meet our interest. Hence, in this soc and on our forum you are allowed to discuss other mmorpg games without limitation.
Our core players are from around central europe and you should find us online playing mostly during the evenings (European time Zones). Since we are all pretty bussy sometimes IRL our society forum constitues a vital part in our soc life. It can well be that we find no time to play for a couple of days or even weeks. Our forum is then the only means of communication with our soc members. For us, that is still gameplay. Our play expands outside the PC game, it also happens here on this website. Through this we give everyone a chance to be part of a soc of dedicated players.
Currently SPU is a group of very diverse people in terms of skills and professions. Even though we hunt and mine a lot, we are not limited to these activities. Our main target is not to become an ueber soc in EU or any other game but to have fun playing together, share our knowledge and help each other out.
