SPU - A RCE gaming society originating from the Entropia Universe

                                            Soc Rules

These are the Society Rules for SPU:

Rule 1) Requirement to join the soc:

Joining Smart Professionals United is only possible by invite unless we are in a recruiting phase.

When you have an invite to join the soc, or we are recruiting and you would like to apply, you need to register on our SPU forum on http://www.spu.soundchild.net/Forum under the section: " Applzing for Membership". You will find more details there.

We accept either new players to the soc who are disciples of current members of SPU, or experienced players.

Upon joining the SPU you will enter as a “Rookie”. After a trial period of approximately 4 weeks we will promote you to the next level if we think you fit into our soc. Experienced players go directly from “Rookie” to “Veteran”.

Rule 2) Be active:

Be active in the soc. This not only means that you should be online in the game . It also requires you to be active on our forum website http://www.spu.soundchild.net/Forum

There is a number of reasons for this:

- Firstly the forum is an additional means of communicating with your soc colleagues. It could be that you play at different times then most other people in the soc and hence the forum would nevertheless allow for communication.

-Secondly we use the forum to regularly discuss soc issues, vote on soc issues and to announce soc events like soc hunts.

-Thirdly showing regular activity on the forum is the only sure way of showing that you are still active when you have no means of playing for a longer period of time.

If you don’t like this Rule, then maybe SPU is NOT a soc for you. Our soc life goes “beyond” game time…

Members who are not active for a period of time will get demoted. If you are already at the lowest rank you will receive a warning on the forum and get a grace period of 2 weeks. If you do not reply to this thread in the forum you will be kicked from the soc.

If you plan on being inactive in the game for whatever reason and no matter how long this might be, you have to tell us by posting in the relevant “I’m away” thread in the forum. As long as you are active on the forum you will not risk being demoted or kicked from soc ! Being active on forum will be regarded as full soc activity.

Please understand that this is needed to keep the soc clean of non playing people and to create room for new players who would like to join.

Rule 3) Be helpful:

Be helpful to other players in our soc and when possible to others in the Entropia Universe. Try to help soc members with any questions/problems they might have in game.

Rule 4) Attitude:

Stick together, be honest at all times with your soc mates. We trust each other and violation of trust will lead to direct kicking.

No foul language, spamming, begging in soc chat and on the forum !!! Create a friendly atmosphere and behave accordingly. Do not pointlessly create arguments and disputes. Try to behave like adults and respect other people’s opinions. It’s normal not to get on 100% with everyone, try to be respectful and accept that we are one soc.

If you feel like you are trapped in an unresolvable dispute, get in touch with the soc leaders. They will try to help you sort out your problems.

Rule 5) Reputation:

Always remember that people see to which soc you belong. We only PK in the specially marked areas, don’t bully players or obstruct their game play. So do not shame our soc name in any way. We try hard to get a good reputation in the Entropia Universe !!!

Rule 6) Ranks, promotions, demotions and kicking:

The soc has 6 Levels of players: “Rookie”, “Grunt”, “Veteran”, “Group Leader”, “Advisor” and "Captain".

For Demotions and kicking see Soc rule no 2. Besides of that, the Captain and the Advisors can demote and kick you when they deem necessary.

Every soc member has the power to promote someone in the soc terminal to the level just below him. However, it is not allowed to normal members to promote players unless this has been agreed in the forum or by the Captain or an Advisor.

Ranks follow a strict order:

New joiners all start out as “Rookie” where they remain untill they are promoted when the leaders think that the player has fulfilled his trial period and is ready to join the soc full on (length of the trial period is flexible).

New Players without skills and in Discipleship will then become “Grunt” and will be regarded full soc members. They will now get access to the soc section of the forum and can actively contribute to soc life.

New Players that have finished their discipleship and skilled players that have passed their trial period will become “Veterans”. "Veterans" is the standard Soc Rank that normal soc members hold.

Players with long playing experience and long lasting soc members can be promoted to the rank of “Group Leader”. This is a very special standing in the soc and shows this person is special for the soc and able to lead a soc hunt or a battle with a small unit.

Below the “Captain” are two “Advisors” that the Captain can nominate at will out of the soc. They help the leader to organise soc life and to keep the soc running smoothly.

The “Captain” of the soc is the last instance. The leader is voted democratically and can be replaced at any time in game when a great majority of players votes for one particular soc member.

Rule 7) Fun:

This is the most important rule of all: Whatever you do, Have FUN !
